   1. Most People who want to write a script, aren’t actually writing anything. Don’t be like them.

2. Find a Way to Stand Out: Enter Competitions and Schemes

   1. Find a cheap or free way to engage with what broadcasters are offering, apply for everything, get your name on the their radar

3. Get to know the Industry Landscape

   1. What are the best ‘easy win’ routes into big screen writing - starting in Children’s TV (like London Hughes)? Digital short series (Like Adjani Salmon) ? Radio (like the Mighty Boosh)? or Theatre (like Michaela Coel and Phoebe Waller-Bridge)?

4. Build Your Own Network and Portfolio

   1. Hold your nose… but you gotta get out and Network. End of Ted Talk.

5. Stay Informed and Keep Learning

   1. Stay up to date with industry news but don’t blow your budget buying info when there are lots of free resources.
